Hourly & Daily Rate Calculator
Convert a monthly salary into a daily or hourly rate — useful for pro-rating pay, calculating unpaid leave deductions, or overtime.
Converted rates
Need to calculate overtime pay from this hourly rate? Use the overtime calculator.
Worked example
Say your monthly salary is RM3,000, and you work 8 hours a day, 26 days a month (the Employment Act convention). Your daily rate is RM3,000 ÷ 26 = RM115.38. Your hourly rate is RM115.38 ÷ 8 = RM14.42.
Common questions
Why 26 days and not the actual number of days in the month?
The Employment Act uses 26 as a standard divisor regardless of whether the month has 28, 30 or 31 days, so your daily rate stays consistent year-round rather than fluctuating with the calendar.
Does this rate include overtime or allowances?
No — this converts your base monthly salary only. Bonuses, allowances and overtime pay are calculated separately and shouldn't be included in the salary figure you enter here.
